Essex Apothecary customers can pay with debit cards or cash. Debit cards are run through a cashless ATM at the register. ATM fee is $2.75, while the debit card fee is $3.50. We do not accept credit cards or online/virtual payments such as Apple Pay or Venmo at this time.

State laws prohibit us from allowing infants, children, or any individuals into the dispensary who are under the age of 21.

Customers need a government-issued ID for age verification. Acceptable forms of ID to purchase recreational cannabis include a driver’s license, Passport, State ID card, or military ID.

Please note: We cannot accept expired forms of identification for cannabis sales. You must be 21+ years of age to purchase recreational cannabis.

Yes, you can purchase recreational cannabis with a government-issued ID that verifies you are 21 or older.

Please note: All products purchased in Massachusetts must stay in Massachusetts.

Customers can purchase up to 1 ounce of marijuana flower or 5 grams of marijuana concentrate per day; marijuana edibles amounts will be contingent based on potency as part of the 1-ounce limit.

Consumption of recreational cannabis may only occur in privately designated areas where smoking and/or vaping is allowed. Please keep in mind that public consumption of cannabis may result in fines.

No. Driving under the influence of cannabis is dangerous and could result in a severe accident and/or legal consequences.

Transporting cannabis across state lines at any time is a crime. Please consume any products from us on private property in the state of Massachusetts.
